How big can a PowerPoint presentation be?

I'm making a project in PowerPoint that has A LOT of video clips and the file is getting to be so large that PowerPoint freezes every 10 seconds trying to process it all. I'm compressing the videos as much as possible, but it's still going to be a huge file. Can PowerPoint handle this? Or is there another program that would be better to use?
